Bengal cats are the result of an Asian Leopard Cat (a small spotted breed of fishing cat, found in India) and a Domestic Shorthair. Fourth generations or greater are considered Stud Book Tradition or SBT. Beginning generations are Foundation generations or F1 for first F2 for second and continuing to F5. Well-bred Bengals are gentle, domesticated, wonderful companions. As pets, kittens are recommended to be four generations removed from the wild blood. These Bengals are wild only in looks, not in personality.
